Combining research innovation with industry expertise, meet the dedicated team behind our wine business suite

“Wine is more than a beverage. It's a time capsule, a social gatherer and a custodian of tradition. It's something that is so connected with our lives, so we want to do everything in our power to help it flourish.”

These are the words of Dr Armando Corsi, Associate Professor in Wine Business at the University of Adelaide, whose passion for wine has catapulted him into an international career as a wine researcher, educator and communicator. He is joined by Program Director for Wine Business, Dr Rebecca Dolan; a digital marketing research trailblazer with over 30 publications to her name, and Associate Professor of Marketing, Dr Steve Goodman; a leading industry researcher and author of the successful book, Principles of Wine Marketing.

Wine Business Team

Boasting over 50 years of experience between them, Dr’s Corsi, Dolan and Goodman bring a renewed passion for the industry to Wine Business at the Adelaide Business School.

Their mission is to support the sustainable growth of the Australian and international wine industry, by creating industry focused courses that are underpinned by the most up to date academic research, where the educators are sharing the very best of what Australia can offer in relation to Wine Business.

“There is no trade off in our approach to wine business” says Dr Goodman, “we are in a unique position where we can generate new knowledge that helps wine businesses make better decisions and deliver state-of-the art education, all the while building strong partnerships with industry associations.

“This allows our partners and students to access the best of the best when it comes to the area of wine business.” adds Dr Rebecca Dolan.

For Dr Dolan, her appointment as the Wine Business Program Director couldn’t have come at a better time. Growing up in the Barossa with Shiraz practically running through her veins, Dr Dolan has an intimate knowledge of the industry and what it takes to succeed, stating that there has never been a more exciting time to explore a career in wine.

“There are so many career options, and once you are in (the industry) it opens many doors to tourism, hospitality, and international opportunities. This is an industry connected by likeminded people who will genuinely help one another to succeed.” Dr Rebecca Dolan

While their working relationship may be fresh, Dr Goodman says of their teams dynamic,

“I feel like we have worked together for such a long time, and we have a great relationship. Our skillsets complement each other well, we can communicate easily, and most importantly, we are all driven by a desire to make a positive and lasting impact in the wine community.”

To our Wine Business Team, wine is more than just a beverage, it’s a catalyst for the development of history, culture, and community. And who knows, wine may also be the catalyst for your future career.
