Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship discipline group encompasses a broad range of research concerned with entrepreneurship and innovation including characteristics and behaviour of individual entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial teams, new venture creation and performance, firm innovation and growth and entrepreneurship & innovation ecosystems.

Our research includes entrepreneurial characteristics, attitudes and behaviours, entrepreneurship education, venture creation processes, venture growth, entrepreneurial resources and finance, family business, female entrepreneurship, social enterprise, entrepreneurial culture, entrepreneurial & innovation ecosystems and institutions. Our researchers have published in top-tier journals such as Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Product Innovation Management and Family Business Review.

The research we generate is aimed to have an impact on the way both practitioners and policy makers operate. Our academics are regularly engaged with government policy-makers, national and international peak bodies and local and international businesses and start-ups.

Our academic network is global in scope and we closely collaborate with colleagues from a wide range of national and overseas universities and business schools, with regular international visitors to the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC).

The Adelaide Business School also hosts a series of research seminars that are attended by staff, postgraduate and honours degree students as part of our commitment to research and scholarship development and exchange.
