Welcome to our new Marketing and Wine Business lecturers
Adelaide Business School is excited to officially welcome two new appointments, Irma Dupuis Day, Lecturer in Wine Business, and Dr Kate Sansome, Lecturer in Marketing.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ms Irma Dupuis Day and Dr Kate Sansome to the discipline of Marketing in Adelaide Business School. While Irma has lived and breathed the world of wine both domestically and internationally, Kate has brings a wealth of experience in the area of sustainability and circular economy – so they both bring valuable experiences and perspectives that their students and fellow academics will learn from!”, says Dr Armando Maria Corsi, Discipline Leader Marketing and Director of the Wine Business Group.
Ms Dupuis Day is completing her PhD, “Customer Trust, Value Expectations, and Engagement Behaviours with Blockchain-enabled Smart Wine Packaging”, with the University of Newcastle. She also studied a Master of Management at EM Normandie Business School, and a MSc Wine Management at Burgundy School of Business, both in France.
As well as academic expertise, Ms Dupuis Day has wine industry experience, working as Marketing Manager for Tamburlaine Organic Wines in the Hunter Valley from 2018 – 2021.
Ms Dupuis Day is currently a Co-Investigator on a National Agriculture Traceability Regulatory Technology Research and Insights Grant, and her research interests include consumer acceptance of wine innovation, no, and low alcohol wine, and theory development for measuring trust in emerging technologies.
“I’m looking forward to continuing my research in wine marketing at Adelaide Business School, and the opportunity to collaborate with some of the leading scholars in the field!”, Ms Dupuis Day says.
In her spare time, Ms Dupuis Day enjoys camping, participating in teams sports (especially Ultimate Frisbee), and as a newcomer to Adelaide, is very excited to visit cellar doors and enjoy our coffee.
Dr Kate Sansome has been part of the University of Adelaide community for almost a decade, studying her undergraduate (Bachelor of Media (Marketing), honours in Commerce, and PhD here.
Dr Sansome’s research focuses on transitions toward sustainable and circular practices, particularly addressing barriers that may prevent citizens and businesses from adopting these practices. Her current projects cover fashion and textiles, as well as food waste in healthcare. She also explores how brand transparency can reduce consumer uncertainty and skepticism toward sustainability claims.
Dr Sansome recently was awarded the Green Industries SA Women in Circular Leadership Scholarship in recognition of this work.
Dr Sansome has been working as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Adelaide Business School on a End Food Waste funded project while also serving as an Adjunct Lecturer in Marketing since 2021, where she teaches the undergraduate course 'Content Creation & Management,' which she developed during my PhD. The course helps students master digital marketing platforms like WordPress, Canva, and MailChimp.
Dr Sansome is excited to keep growing and learning at Adelaide Business School.
“The marketing discipline is a close-knit, supportive team, and I’m grateful to be part of such an inspiring and empowering environment.”
In her spare time, Dr Sansome loves reading novels, has rediscovered her passion for art now she’s wrapped up her PhD and reclaimed some free time; and she’s training for a marathon in 2025!
Welcome to your new roles, Ms Irma Dupuis Day and Dr Kate Sansome!
