2021 Finance, Investment and Business Symposium

Bonython Hall hosts a diverse range of innovative thinkers for the 2021 Finance, Investment and Business Symposium

2021 Finance, Investment and Business Symposium

On Thursday, 25th of November, the Adelaide Business School and The International Centre for Financial Services (ICFS) were pleased to host the 2021 Finance, Investment and Business Symposium and welcome a community of innovative thinkers into Bonython Hall.

Throughout the afternoon, special guests, Grant Kelly (CEO & MD Vicinity Centres), Zarmeen Pavri (Partner SDGx), Senator Andrew McLachlan and Con Michalakis (Head of Investments at Statewide), provided valuable insights and shared their views regarding the 2022 financial outlook and the importance of ESG investment obligations.

There was an incredible line up of panel speakers afterwards from private equity (PE), venture capital (VC), broader funds management, government and university academics discussing impact investing, ESG investment obligations, social entrepreneurship and the role of pension funds in driving optimal socially responsible investment principles.

It was fantastic to hear from a variety of different sectors and gain multiple perspectives from industry. Following our guest speakers, we opened up the floor to our panellists, where attendees provided questions for valuable discussion for our eight industry experts. During this time, insightful conversation was made between our attendees, where panellists answered questions ranging from diversification across all asset classes, ESG investment, crypto and block chain.

Afterwards, our guest speakers, panellists and attendees enjoyed snacks and refreshments outside on Goodman Crescent Lawns, whilst networking, and connecting on a more personal level with industry across many different sectors.

The Adelaide Business School and The International Centre for Financial Services (ICFS) would like to once again thank our fantastic guest speakers and panellists for their insight and our attendees for being a terrific audience. Finally, we would like to thank George Boubouras, Tania Turner, Sarah May and Sean Pettingill for organising this fantastic event and making the annual Finance, Investment and Business Symposium possible.
