Adelaide MBA takes on The Bend Motorsport Park for high speed training
The Adelaide MBA course 'Fundamentals of Leadership' accelerated their studies at The Bend Motorsport Park on 17 and 18 September.
This 'high performance' leadership course provided students with an opportunity to connect as a cohort over two days, completing in-class learning, group work and networking, followed by a full-speed competition on the go-kart track. An ideal site for students to begin their MBA journey.
What is 'Fundamentals of Leadership'?
Positioned at the beginning of the MBA, Fundamentals of Leadership encourages participants to think about the nature of what they will study over the whole Program. Students immerse in the knowledge, capabilities, and behaviours required to lead in complex and changing business environments, and with consideration for human motivation in business and leading innovation for competitive advantage.
"To open the Adelaide MBA Program with an offsite is a perfect way to create an environment for deeper discussions around the concepts, the sharing of experiences, and building new friendships across the cohort” said Lorraine Caruso, MBA Director. 'It was a lot of fun and really wonderful to get to know everyone as the MBA journey begins."Lorraine Caruso, MBA Director
During the course students will consider leadership theories and styles relevant to our current business environment, including:
- Leading sustained performance.
- Building strategic relationships.
- Leading entrepreneurship.
- Creating environments aligned with motivation.

"To lead is to live with danger. Although it may be exciting to think of leadership as inspiration, decisive action, and powerful rewards, leading requires taking risks that can jeopardize your career and your personal life. It requires putting yourself on the line, disturbing the status quo, and working with organizational and political conflicts. Those who choose to lead take the risks and sometimes are neutralized for doing so."Ronald A Heifitz
