Kai accepts his challenge as one of the first Project Management graduates
Studying a Bachelor of Project Management at the Adelaide Business School was an easy choice for Kai Karimizandi who was one of the first students. Kai had a keen interest for Project Management and the commencement of the degree came at a perfect time for him.
"The University's reputation and ranking as one of the top 1% universities worldwide was also a key factor in my enrolement." he said.
"The Adelaide Business School absolutely lived up to the reputation, providing me with industry leaders in project management as lecturers. I enjoyed that the selection of lecturers didn’t only accommodate to our needs during class times, but also resulted in being long time mentors to the students."
The various professional backgrounds the lecturers came from was particularly effectual for Kai.
"One of the things that I enjoyed the most about this degree was the lecturers that presented to us, they were from diverse backgrounds. Some in sustainability, construction, IT, social policy and many other areas. This meant that my cohort was able to learn from various industry leaders, which in return allowed us to really figure out our key areas of interest within project management," Kai Karimizandi
Currently working in a Project Management role along side a team of passionate technology experts building innovations which disrupt the digital technology space, he found the degree assisted in preparing for his career in multiple ways.
"I interned with Dr Tracey Dodd, the current Program Director of Undergraduate Project Management, in my first year. This prepared me in getting first-hand experience in project management and really understanding the value that my skillsets would bring to the profession," he said.
"I think in many ways as a student you end up doubting yourself and thinking whether you are “cut out” for your dream career. Dr Dodd provided me with opportunities to learn and build up my confidence, this is still a key contributor to my current career."
