Professional Certificate in Defence Industry Leadership Scholarships

Build your defence industry leadership pedigree with South Australia’s top-ranked university.

Scholarship support for the PC-DIL is funded by Executive Education across two categories:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
  • Veteran

Each scholarship will cover 100% of the tuition fees* for one applicant per scholarship per program intake. 

*Applicants will still be liable for the University’s Student Services and Amenities Fee (approx. $250 in each year study is undertaken).

Rules and eligibility

  • To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must have made a formal application for entry into the PC-DIL Program.
  • Scholarship applications must be submitted in full (including referee report) by Sunday 26 July for the 2020 intake.
  • If a student accepts a scholarship and then defers commencement of their studies, they must apply to the Executive Education Director for approval to have the scholarship deferred for up to a maximum of 12 months.
  • If a student withdraws from, or is not enrolled in the PC-DIL for a period of 12 months or longer the scholarship will cease.
  • If a student does not successfully complete a course, either by receiving an overall fail grade or withdrawing during the Withdraw No Fail (WNF) or Withdraw Fail (WF) periods, the scholarship will not cover completion of any required additional courses.

Please note you can apply for a scholarship in one category only, and an application for admission into the PC-DIL program must come prior to your scholarship application. You will receive notification of the outcome of your scholarship application in the fortnight following the program application deadline.

One scholarship per cohort may be offered to a candidate of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent who can demonstrate leadership qualities and a desire to contribute to the defence industry. 

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander incentive will cover up to 100% of the PC-DIL tuition fees*.

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • A statement outlining your leadership capability, demonstrated through your military, professional or community service, and a statement addressing how the PC-DIL will assist you to further your leadership potential
  • A statement outlining how the PC-DIL will help you to contribute to the growth of South Australia's Defence Industry in a professional capacity
  • A referee report
  • Confirmation of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Descent
     

One scholarship per cohort may be offered to a South Australian Veteran (as described in South Australia's Charter for Veterans) who can demonstrate leadership qualities and a desire to contribute to the defence industry.

The South Australian Veteran scholarship will cover up to 100% of the PC-DIL tuition fees* and you must have the capacity to commit to the study dates for the program.

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

Stage 1

  • A statement outlining your leadership capability, demonstrated through your your military, professional or community service, and a statement addressing how the PC-DIL will assist you to further your leadership potential
  • A statement outlining how the PC-DIL will help you to contribute the growth of South Australia's Defence Industry in a professional capacity
  • A referee report

Stage 2

If successful at stage one, you will be invited to attend an interview.
