Request to Overload Form
All full-time Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Finance study plans consider 12 units of study per semester as a standard full-time enrolment, i.e usually 4 x 3 unit courses. Anything over 12 units is an overload. If you wish to enrol into an overload you should be aware that it can seriously affect your academic performance. Research has shown that a student may not reach their academic potential if they overload.
From 2009 the maximum number of units you can enrol into via Access Adelaide is 12. If you attempt to enrol into more than 12 units, you will receive an error message and will need to apply for permission to enrol. Your application will be assessed using the following criteria:
GPA is >4.6 or ~60% average
You will normally be approved to overload up to 15-units.
GPA is <4.6 or ~60% average, but it is your FINAL SEMESTER
Attempts will be made to avoid making you return for another semester with only 1 course to study. However, approval to overload may need to be denied if academic performance indicates that you may not cope with an overload.
GPA is <4.6 of ~60% average and it is NOT your final semester
You will only be given permission to overload (over 12-units) in exceptional circumstances. Your application will be assessed by the Program Director.
